Concrete Jacking NSW
Concrete jacking lifts sunken concrete back towards its original level by injecting material beneath the slab.
At LevelUp NSW, we use polyurethane foam lifting, also known as resin injection – a cleaner, lighter form of slab jacking that raises concrete without demolition.
What Is Concrete Jacking?
Concrete jacking, also called slab jacking or concrete raising, is a way to lift a settled slab instead of breaking it out. Small holes are drilled through the concrete, material is injected into the ground beneath, and the slab is raised back into position. The concrete itself is usually sound. The problem is the ground underneath.
Traditional slab jacking, known as mudjacking, pumps a heavy cement slurry under the slab. We use high-density polyurethane resin instead, which does the same job with far less weight, smaller holes and a much faster cure.
How Our Concrete Jacking Process Works
Where We Use Concrete Jacking
Concrete jacking works on most external and commercial slabs, including:
Driveways (see Driveway Lifting & Levelling)
Footpaths, house surrounds and patios
Pool surrounds
Garage floors and shed slabs
Warehouse floors and commercial walkways (see Commercial Slab Levelling)
Is Concrete Jacking Right for Your Slab?
Concrete jacking is a good fit when a slab has sunk, tilted or rocks underfoot but is still mostly in one piece. If the slab is badly broken up, replacement may be the better option, and we'll tell you so. We work on external and commercial slabs; we don't do structural underpinning of house foundations.
Concrete Jacking FAQs
In most cases, yes. Slab jacking avoids demolition, disposal and a new pour, so it usually costs a fraction of replacement and takes far less time.
Polyurethane resin is designed to stay in place long-term. Once cured, it doesn’t break down or wash out like the soil it replaces, and it continues to support the slab from below. The repair is most durable when the cause of the original movement, such as poor drainage or a leaking pipe, is also addressed.
The foam cures in quickly, so most areas can be walked on, and often driven on, the same day or within 24 hours in most circumstances.
Both lift concrete by injecting material underneath. Mudjacking uses a heavy cement slurry; polyurethane foam is lighter, needs smaller holes and cures much faster.
